OUR HISTORY
Hillingdon Theatre Dance Centre began in 1966 when Wendy Brackley opened the junior school (Georgian School of Dancing) at Hayes End Methodist Church Hall. Twenty years later the opportunity to buy studio premises saw the opening of H.T.D.C. The school now has six teaching staff and caters for approximately 250 children and students age 18 months plus. The school is lucky enough to run classes in a studio with ballet barres, mirrors and a maple wood sprung dance floor.
H.T.D.C holds a very close relationship with local theatre groups and professional and amateur theatres. Students past and present hold a love of dance and appreciation of the world of theatre.
In July 2012, Principal of H.T.D.C Wendy Brackley retired but will remain in close contact with the school as the founder of Hillingdon Theatre Dance Centre. Teacher of the school, Helen White is the now the Principal. Since Helen became principal of HTDC, our dancers have performed at London’s Sadler’s Wells; with the Vienna Festival Ballet; in Her Majesty’s Theatre; in Professional Pantomime seasons; and with BBC’s “Strictly Come Dancing” star Pasha. We also have regular performance opportunities at local events and hold a very impressive examination results track record.
